The Ally houses – historic sheds in Telluride
Because of its significant role in the history of the American West, the core area of Telluride was designated a National Historic Landmark District in 1964. This listing is the highest level of historic status available from the United States Secretary of the Interior. Backyard sheds share a special place in Telluride’s rich history. Telluride’s 192 sheds and outbuildings contribute greatly to its National Historic Landmark status.
Many of these structures of historical significance exist today and still have unique details intact such as dormers, porches, ornamental brackets, doors, windows and overall mass and form of the original structure.
